Eaglehawk Dahlia & Arts school relays

The school relays at the EUFS Gala Parade were a huge success with students from different schools showcasing their athletic abilities. The Grade 3 & 4 relay took place at 11:30am and was followed by the Grade 5 & 6 relay at 11:45am. The students ran their hearts out while their peers cheered them on. It was a great opportunity for the schools to come together and celebrate the theme of the parade, “GOLD”. The school relay event added an exciting element to the parade and was enjoyed by both the participants and the crowd.

The Bendigo Gift Running Race

Athletes, officials, and fans marked Saturday, March 11 as the day the Bendigo Gift athletics carnival was run. Racing was held throughout the afternoon and under lights at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex in Flora Hill’s Retreat Road. The event was supported by the City of Greater Bendigo and various sponsors to ensure the Gift tradition kept rolling.

The Bendigo Thousand was first contested in 1947 and had been part of the city’s sporting landscape for more than 70 years. The Victorian Athletic League, home of professional running in the state, was determined that the Bendigo Gift would continue, and they delivered and supported the event with the City of Greater Bendigo. The races included 70m Men’s, 70m Women’s, 100m Under-14 Mixed, 100m Under-18 Boys and Girls, 100m Masters, Men’s Gift, Women’s Gift, 300m Masters (35+), 400m Restricted InterSport Series, 550m Open, 800m Masters 45+, and 1600m Open. The event was free of charge for spectators to attend.

5K Frenzy

The adrenaline-pumping 5K Frenzy presented by Bendigo Harriers was a blast! ?‍♀️?‍♂️ On February 10th, 2023, athletes and spectators gathered at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex (Cnr Cook St & Retreat Rd) for an unforgettable evening of athletic achievement and community spirit! ?

The thrill of competitive races filled the air, including elite 5K events and 1K runs for young athletes (U8, U11, and U15). ???

Friends and family came together for this spectacular showcase of speed, endurance, and camaraderie, creating memories to cherish for a lifetime! ??
