The More You Know
The Australian Sheep and Wool Show 2025, held from July 17–19 at the Prince of Wales Showground in Bendigo, marked an unforgettable weekend packed with wool, wagging tails, and wide smiles.
This year was extra special, as the event celebrated 25 years in Bendigo since moving from Melbourne in 1999. What began as a gamble has become one of the most iconic regional agricultural showcases in Australia. The 2025 edition once again proved why this event is proudly known as the world’s largest sheep show.
Visitors wandered through a vibrant tapestry of attractions—from elite sheep competitions like the White Suffolk feature breed, to educational sessions in the Careers & Technology Hub, and the delightfully colourful Woolcraft exhibits. The Fibre Market buzzed with crafters and textile lovers, while the Australian Wool Fashion Parades turned lanolin into luxury on the runway.
Families and food lovers were spoilt at the Bendigo Festival of Lamb, where farm-to-plate experiences brought local flavour to the forefront. Meanwhile, Central Vic Yard Dog Championships and Working Dog displays offered thrilling moments of skill and partnership.

The weekend also included key industry networking events like the Annual Breeders Dinner and Sponsors and Breeders Cocktail Party, plus Ram Sales and the Merino National Pairs.
Backed by generous sponsors including La Trobe University, AWTA, Wool.com, and Agriculture Victoria, this year’s show was a wool-powered celebration of community, heritage, and innovation.
📍 Mark your calendars! The next show returns July 17–19, 2026.
